ENGLISH EDITION – As soon as we had the news that we would be leaving, positively buzzing I prepared my suitcases with a pair of Chanel and some Philipp Plein outfit. At the airport a private Bombardier jet was waiting for us to reach St Petersburg, where some evenings lay ahead – events not to be missed.

ENGLISH EDITION – The LearJet is itself a magnificent experience with its flawless flight service: two and a half hours flight is a true luxury experience in which the clouds have drawn wonderful unreal landscapes, while champagne along with the caviar served has meant that the “single journey” has already been a unique experience.

ITALIAN EDITION – Il LearJet è di per sé un’esperienza magnifica,a cui si aggiunge il suo servizio di volo impeccabile: due ore e mezza di volo, sono una vera luxury experience in cui le nuvole hanno disegnato meravigliosi paesaggi irreali, mentre lo champagne, insieme al caviale servito in volo, ha fatto sì che il “solo viaggio” sia già stata un’esperienza unica.

ENGLISH EDITION – The atmosphere was electrifying and not least the wait of the landing for the desire to bring home some beautiful photos of the spectacular buildings of St. Petersburg. A uniquely beautiful and sophisticated city that I have already experienced during its “White Nights” whose memory owes it to the beauty built some centuries ago by Italian architects and workers called to realize this wonder.

ITALIAN EDITION – L’atmosfera è stata elettrizzante e non da meno l’attesa di atterrare, per il desiderio di portare a casa delle bellissime foto dinanzi agli spettacolari palazzi di St. Pietroburgo. Una città, unicamente bella e sofisticata, che ho già vissuto durante le sue “notti bianche” e il cui ricordo lo deve alla bellezza costruita, alcuni secoli fa fu, da architetti e operai italiani chiamati a realizzare questa meraviglie.

ENGLISH EDITION – The wind which cut the city, made the air so cold that it was impossible for me to resist outdoor, forcing me to admire from the inside of the limousine the “hot” atmosphere of lights and colors of the city

ITALIAN EDITION – Il vento, che ha tagliato la città, ha reso l’aria gelida ed e’ stato impossibile per me resistere all’aperto, costringendomi ad ammirare dall’interno della limousine, la “caldissima” atmosfera di luci e colori della città .

ENGLISH EDITION – I had enough time to attend to many events, including the magnificent concert of the master Valery Gergiev who opened the opening night of the VI edition.

ITALIAN EDITION – Ho avuto così più tempo per assistere agli innumerevoli eventi, fra cui il magnifico concerto del maestro Valery Gergiev che ha aperto la serata inaugurale della VI° edizione.

ENGLISH EDITION – For those who do not know him, Valery Gergiev is one of the greatest orchestra conductors in the world and directs and collaborates with major orchestras, including the “Wiener Philharmonic”, the “La Scala Philharmonic”, and the “London Symphony Orchestra”.

ITALIAN EDITION – Valery Gergiev per chi non lo conoscesse, è uno dei più grandi direttori di orchestra al mondo e dirige e collabora con le maggiori orchestre, tra cui i Wiener Philharmoniker, la Filarmonica della Scala, la London Symphony Orchestra.

ENGLISH EDITION – Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg, where the inaugural evening was celebrated, is perhaps the best example where he shows his unparalleled ability as undisputed leader, as well as that of a great organizer and under his direction the “Mariinsky” theater is one of the most impressive and important theater systems in the world.

ITALIAN EDITION – Il Teatro Mariinskij II di St Pietroburgo, dove si è celebrata la serata inaugurale, e’ forse il suo migliore esempio che mostra la sua impareggiabile capacità di conduttore, ormai indiscussa, nonchè quella di un grande organizzatore, che sotto la sua direzione, ha permesso di confermare il teatro “Mariinsky” come uno dei sistemi teatrali più imponenti e importanti del mondo.

ENGLISH EDITION – The misfortune of inclement weather turned into luck when, visiting the Maestro for a short farewell in the afternoon, he allowed me to attend the rehearsals making me find alone behind the scenes to admire the theater without spectators.

ITALIAN EDITION – La sfortuna del tempo inclemente, si è trasformata in fortuna quando, in visita dal Maestro per un breve saluto, nel pomeriggio, mi ha concesso di poter assistere alle prove facendomi ritrovare sola, dietro le quinte sul palco, a ammirare il teatro senza spettatori.

ENGLISH EDITION – The backstage is something magical and fascinating, a portentous creative machine that those who have never had the opportunity to see, is in itself magical as the shows that are celebrated.

ITALIAN EDITION – Il backstage è qualcosa di magico e affascinante, una portentosa macchina creativa che chi non ha mai avuto modo di vedere, è di per sè magica come gli spettacoli che si celebrano.

ENGLISH EDITION – Watching the dancers while practicing from behind the scenes in the silence of a theater without spectators, is in my opinion something fascinating, unique and exciting. You can feel their breath, their “beating of wings” and you can see how much effort and sacrifice there is behind a simple movement that appears natural only in their actions.

ITALIAN EDITION – Poter osservare i ballerini, da dietro le quinte, mentre si esercitano, nel silenzio di un teatro senza spettatori, è secondo me, qualcosa di affascinante, unico ed emozionante.

ENGLISH EDITION – You can feel their breath, their “beating of wings” and you can see how much effort and sacrifice there is behind a simple movement that appears natural only in their actions. It certainly cannot be compared to the spectacular inaugural celebration which saw, among others, the presence of the President Vladimir Putin who proudly opened this memorable event, but certainly makes it clear, if there were any need, how much deep this art really is.

ITALIAN EDITION – Si può sentire il loro respiro, il loro “battere d’ali” e si può ammirare quanto sforzo e sacrificio c’è dietro un semplice movimento che appare naturale solo nelle loro azioni. Non si può certo paragonare alla spettacolare celebrazione inaugurale, che ha visto tra gli altri, la presenza del presidente Russo Vladimir Putin che con orgoglio ha aperto il memorabile evento, ma certamente fa capire, se ce ne fosse bisogno, quanto quest’arte sia realmente profonda.

 

ENGLISH EDITION – A classical dance show, the music of the orchestra conducted by Maestro Valery Gergiev, accompanied by renown musicians including the great Denis Leonidovič Macuev, known in the world by the name of Denis Matsuev, filled the evening in a fascinating way.

ITALIAN EDITION – Uno show di danza classica, le musiche dell’orchestra diretta dal Maestro Valery Gergiev, accompagnate da musicisti di levatura mondiale, tra cui il grandissimo Denis Leonidovič Macuev, conosciuto nel mondo con il nome di Denis Matsuev hanno riempito la serata in maniera affascinante.

ENGLISH EDITION – Probably their popularity among non-professionals comes more than from the wonderful musical ability of Matsuiev and the ear of Master Gergiev, able to recognize a wrong nuance between hundreds of instruments that play around him, from the commercial spot during the International Champions Cup games, in which both, Matsueiv and Maestro Valery Gergiev, show themselves in their natural role.

ITALIAN EDITION – Probabilmente la loro popolarità fra i non addetti ai lavori, deriva più che dalla meravigliosa abilità musicale di Matsuiev e dall’orecchio del Maestro Gergiev, capace di riconoscere una sfumatura sbagliata fra centinaia di strumenti che suonano intorno a lui, dallo spot pubblicitario durante le partite internazionali di Coppa dei campioni, in cui entrambi, Matsueiv e il maestro Valery Gergiev si mostrano nel loro naturale ruolo.

ENGLISH EDITION – The time of the show, however seemed to pass quickly, and I was impressed by the high level of performances: a moment of great culture linked to some of the most artistic and elaborate disciplines, which showed here its highest and most valuable side.

ITALIAN EDITION – Il tempo dello spettacolo comunque è sembrato passare velocemente, e mi ha impressionato il livello altissimo delle esibizioni: un momento di grande cultura legata ad alcune delle discipline più artistiche ed elaborate, che ha mostrato qui, il suo lato più alto e di valore.

ENGLISH EDITION – A true “luxury”, a real privilege that I could enjoy if luxury, as I understand it, is intended as an exasperated search for “beauty” in all its forms and forms.The culture behind every expressive form is in my opinion the true luxury of the future, and now that artificial intelligence will begin to replace the human one, we will understand even more the”intangible” value but extremely important son of time, of centuries, of minds that make of our uniqueness a great exercise of human passion.

ITALIAN EDITION – Un vero “lusso”, un vero privilegio di cui ho potuto godere se il lusso, come lo intendo io, è inteso come esasperata ricerca della “bellezza” in tutte le sue forme e declinazioni. La cultura che sta dietro ogni forma espressiva e’ secondo me il vero lusso “del futuro”, e ora che l’intelligenza artificiale comincerà a sostituire quella umana, si comprenderà ancora di più il il valore “intangibile” ma estremamente importante figlio del tempo, di secoli, di menti che fanno della nostra unicità un grande esercizio della passione umana.

ENGLISH EDITION – For this reason I wanted to be here in St.Petersburg, to be part of the efforts put together by great thinkers and international experts, of their need to redefine and confront the most important theme: the culture and the desire of man to work around it as its highest form of expression and the greatest asset to be protected, preserved and enhanced.

ITALIAN EDITION – Per questa ragione ho voluto essere qui s St.Petersburg: per essere partecipe degli sforzi messi insieme da grandi pensatori ed esperti internazionali, del loro bisogno di ridefinire e confrontarsi con il tema più importante: la cultura e la voglia dell’uomo di lavorare intorno ad essa come la sua più alta forma espressiva e il più grande patrimonio da proteggere, conservare e valorizzare.
